What Are UKC "Hunt Tests"?

what we have to offer

MRHRC Events

Welcome to the Mount Rushmore Hunting Retriever Club, a club serving retriever owners and enthusiasts across The Black Hills of South Dakota, eastern Wyoming and northwestern Nebraska!

This club was founded in 2017 to provide additional hunting retriever training, testing and title opportunities to retriever owners and hunting enthusiasts.  Our goal is to reach out to individuals who desire access to training grounds and people to train with.

We aspire to hold an annual Hunt Test, with challenging tests & test grounds and well-qualified judges, that  provides a quality experience for every dog/handler team. Please visit our EVENTS page for more information about our upcoming hunt test.

" Conceived by Hunters for Hunters", as are all Hunting Retriever Club, Inc affiliated clubs, we offer something for both hunters and non-hunters.

Nationally, 60% of HRC membership hunts over 20 days per year|24% hunt 10-20 days per year| 84% hunts over 10 days per year.

If your are a hunter, join us to get your dog ready to hunt or to improve current performance in the field.  Then, learn about our tests that enable you to measure your dog's progress in performing skills directly related to how you hunt.  Soon, you will recognize an opportunity to work, and spend time, with your dog year-round, rather than just during your limited hunting season.

Non-hunters, if you are interested in training your retriever, join us and learn a game where you and your dog can practice and participate  year-round in challenging tests at four different levels, while your dog also earns titles honoring and recognizing his/her level of accomplishment.

If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, then consider joining our club by visiting our membership page.

Do you have photos from a recent training, hunt test, or meeting?  Send them to us!  We would love to share them.
